Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists and structural heart coordinators to assess patients scheduled for structural heart procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-procedure evaluations, including patient history review, physical assessments, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Educate patients and their families about the details of structural heart procedures, including risks, benefits, and post-procedure care instructions.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care throughout the process, from pre-procedure preparation to post-procedure recovery and follow-up.
- Monitor patients' progress and recovery following procedures, addressing any complications or concerns as they arise.
- Provide ongoing patient education on medication management, vascular access care, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term heart health.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians and surgeons, and allied health professionals, to ensure seamless patient care delivery
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in structural heart disease, techniques, technologies, and best practices through ongoing professional development activities.
- Participation with community education on valvular heart disease and improve management of patients with structural heart disease pathologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing with specialization in Cardiology.
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner with focus on cardiology.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in interventional cardiology.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with proficiency in interpreting cardiac imaging studies and diagnostic tests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and support patients throughout the interventional cardiology process.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
