The successful candidate will have a pragmatic and applied approach, while at the same time bringing a creative examination of customer needs and solutions. This person will have strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with Designers, Engineers and Project Managers. This person will also possess strong communication skills and demonstrate maturity and self-confidence to work with colleagues and customers.

Additional qualifications the successful candidate will possess include:

Three to five years’ experience in structural engineering.
Graduate from an accredited Civil Engineering Program with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Self-motivated and strong attention to detail.
Adaptable and agile, responsive to quick changes in direction.
Ability to establish rapport and credibility with customers and other stakeholders.

Job Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW

The Structural Engineer plays a key role in the successful execution of projects. Reporting to the Manager of Structural Engineering, this individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. The Structural Engineer is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed – both externally and internally. The successful candidate will also contribute to a dynamic team environment by being proactive, communicating clearly to all stakeholders, and modeling a highly collaborative working environment.



TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Assist with the production of construction documents, ensuring the application of structural engineering principles.
Perform accurate and complete structural analysis of framing and foundations. Generate structural calculations and utilize 2D and 3D analysis software where appropriate.
Assist with project construction administration. Respond to contractor questions and RFI’s, review structural shop drawings, and assist with site observations.
Provide technical and engineering support to other departments and disciplines.
Possess a basic understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering construction practices.
Coordinate design and construction with both internal and external stakeholders, providing technical support and work direction as needed.
