JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire a Facility
Technician. This is considered a Limited Term Employment position.
Scheduled hours vary for each event, but may include: mornings,
afternoons, evenings and weekends. An employee in this position is
responsible for a variety of tasks related to building maintenance and
event functions. Work is performed according to established guidelines
and reviewed by the Buildings Supervisor. Essential Job Functions:
Complete the set-up and takedown of equipment from events and return the
building to its original condition before and after each event. Enforce
rules of the Omni Center regarding the general public by ensuring safety
protocols when on premises. Ability to recognize any problems with
regards to the building, its contents, equipment, or supplies and report
any questionable changes to the supervisor or maintenance lead by
written or verbal communication. Assist in the maintenance of the ice,
which includes resurfacing, flooding, patching and edging as well as any
other duties deemed necessary. Assist in the maintenance of the building
to maintain the best possible condition. Duties include, but are not
limited to, bathroom cleaning and restocking, floor care, windows, and
custodial cleaning, as well as outside maintenance. Performs opening
procedures for the building during events and properly securing the
building each night. Ensure customers or prospective customers needs are
reasonably met during the course of an event to the best of your ability
or seek advice from the immediate supervisor. Ensure cleanliness and
safety of the building and surrounding grounds. Ability to maintain a
professional demeanor and establish effective working relationships with
the general public, associates, volunteers, and staff; and have the
ability to calmly approach and solve problems under stressful
circumstances; maintain and promote harmony in the workplace; ability to
concentrate for extended periods of time and be flexible. Contributes to
a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform
other job-related work as needed or requested. Assistance is given to
others and special projects to be completed as scheduled or requested.
Physical Requirements: The work environment characteristics described
herein are representative of those an employee encounters while
performing the essential functions of this job. To include, but not
limited to, push, pull and lift objects of varying weights and heights
up to (100) pounds. Standing/walking up to eight (8) hours per day.
Ability to reach shoulder height and above to do overhead work. Frequent
bending and twisting. Job Requirements: High School Diploma or
equivalent. Must be 18 years old. Valid drivers\' license with good
driving record. Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Use equipment safely. Report to work on time and when scheduled. Work
with little supervision. Operate or learn to operate power equipment
such as, floor scrubber, forklift, platform lift, vacuum, sweeper, ice
resurfacers, snow blower, and hand and power tools. Compensation: Wage
range for this seasonal, limited-term position is \$11.00 to \$14.00 per
hour depending on qualifications. Flexible scheduling available. There
