Job Description

 
Anticipated period of employment: 04/26/2024 to 11/29/24 All applicants must have 3 months experience hand harvesting a perishable crop. Manually plant, cultivate and harvest the following crops: tomatoes, pumpkins, beans, strawberries, eggplant, broccoli, pickles, peppers, greens, cabbage and other fruits and vegetables. Use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears and knives. Transplant, weed, thin, tie, stake and prune crops. Clean, grade, sort, package, and load harvested products. Operation of tractors, trucks, farm delivery vehicles, tillage equipment and machinery, rototillers, fork lifts, pumps, irrigation equipment, transplanting machinery, fertilizer spreaders, sprayers, planters, mowers, refrigerated containers, greenhouse machinery and equipment, cultivating equipment and machinery, packing and washing line equipment. Stock harvested products at farm stands1 week of training will be provided. ***See ETA 790/790A for a complete job description*** Only workers meeting all qualifications on the job order should be referred by the Job Service Office.
