  • Harborview Medical Center is Magnet-designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This certification is considered the gold standard for nursing excellence.
  • Direct, coordinate, evaluate operational, financial and personnel of Patient Care Services departments
  • Serve as a member of the Senior leadership team reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer
  • Lead nursing excellence and the development and maintenance of the nursing professional practice organization, B-Laws, and infrastructure
  • Assure nursing excellence through oversight of professional development (CNE and CNS), clinical standards, policies and procedures and nursing accreditations

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    Patient Care Services (PCS) is an integral focus of the strategic plan of HMC. Ongoing strategic initiatives, as well as facilities expansion, and growing strategic service lines necessitates successful planning, prioritizing, and execution of initiatives that improve efficiency, safety, quality, and financial health

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    Lead, direct, and evaluate assigned nursing and patient care services areas:
  • Wound, Ostomy, and Limb Preservation
  • Clinical Business Systems
  • Nursing accreditations/designations; ANCC Magnet® Program, PTAP Program, Beacon, etc.
  • Nursing Professional Practice Organization infrastructure
  • Learning Management System, Community Training Center (Basic, BLS, ACLS) management of training sites
  • PCS Regulatory lead – Department of Health, Joint Commission, CMS, Nursing Quality, EBP, and research

  • Partner with Physician Leaders for clinical and operational excellence (Dyads)

    REQUIRED
  • 9 years of nursing experience with at least 5 years of progressive leadership experience with experience in nursing development, quality improvement and nursing clinical education
  • Master's degree or above in Nursing. May be substituted with a Master's in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field provided the candidate also possesses a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • State of Washington Registered Nurse License or Must be able to obtain a WA state RN License to practice
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
