As a Job Coach Specialist, you'll play an essential role in enriching the lives of the individuals we support. Through fostering their social skills, promoting independence, and facilitating opportunities to be a part of the community, you'll contribute to their growth and fulfillment.The Job Coach plays a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve success in community employment settings.
The primary responsibility of the Job Coach is to provide support and guidance, promote skill development, foster independence, and ensure the individual is successful in their workplace.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
Provides supervision to individuals in specific jobs according to employer specifications.  May provide training to enhance quality of work product.
Provide supervision and job support by communicating regularly with supervisors at employment sites regarding individual?s progress and checking in regularly with the individual.
Document progress towards employment plan objectives and report progress in the form of daily progress notes, monthly /quarterly progress reports and during team meetings.
Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date case records, service hours, and billing records.  Meet established billing goals.  Submit work culture report for all employed participants.
Ensure the individual?s health, safety and general well-being at the work site.
Fosters good working relationships with employers.
Maintains record of issues and/or concerns at specific worksite and communicates needs to Employment Specialist and Program Director.
Provides transportation for individuals to and from worksites if necessary, ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
Implements and writes vocational assessments as it relates to industry standards.
Attends all meetings, as requested.
Fosters the maximum amount of individual independence, decreasing the level of support as specified in the individual?s plan.
Serves as a role model to individuals supported in the agency.
Adhere to all funding source regulations and Cape Abilities policies and procedures.
Serves as mandated reporter for suspected cases of abuse and/or neglect to the Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC).

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and implements Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS) Universal Supports strategies and techniques with the individuals.
Provide transportation to participants, when necessary, in a personal vehicle or a designated agency vehicle when available.
Performs additional duties, as assigned.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High school diploma.  Bachelor?s degree preferred.
Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities in community-based employment settings.
Valid driver?s license in the state of Massachusetts.
Ability to model and teach occupational tasks.
