Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery is seeking an outstanding biostatistics Postdoctoral Research Associate. This individual will split his/her time between (1) working on challenging methodological problems in the realm of pragmatic clinical trials, including methods for designing and analyzing cluster randomized trials; and (2) getting experiences as a collaborative biostatistician, including writing statistical analysis sections and conducting analyses for ongoing projects.
The candidate will be primarily mentored by Dr. Xiaoxi Yao, the Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Scientific Director for Pragmatic Trials and Evaluation and Professor of Health Services Research within the Kern Center. Kern Center has nearly 200 staff members of whom 23 are PhD faculty, working on over 140 active projects in collaboration with over 120 practice partners across all Mayo Clinic sites. There will be no shortage of opportunities to collaborate and learn, as well as get involved in real-world methodological advancement. The candidate will be co-mentored by Dr. Fan Li from the Department of Biostatistics from Yale University. Dr. Li is a leading expert on methods for pragmatic clinical trials and is PI on two PCORI-funded projects, among others. The candidate will be closely working with Drs. Yao and Li on developing new methods that address emerging challenges in pragmatic clinical trials supported within Mayo and beyond.
The preferred candidate will have
• Experience working with randomized clinical trials and real-world data
• Methodological expertise in causal inference and design of experiments.
• Prior experience with publications, conference presentations, or grant applications in comparative effectiveness research
Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D. in biostatistics or a related field with a strong background in statistical methods and applications.
