The Opportunity:
As the Administrative Assistant 3, you will provide administrative support to the Department of Financial Management Services (FMS). You will make independent decisions regarding the management of the department office; organize, coordinate, and implement all administrative services in the department; work with both internal and external constituencies for the department; and work with the chair in monitoring and analyzing the department budget.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: handling financial processes for the department; composing complex correspondence for the Chair and the department; assisting with the organization and execution of department events; assisting the chair with financial management processes; assist with fiscal planning; assist department chair with financial reports and serves as a point of contact for the department when working with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents.
Required Qualifications:
• High School graduation or equivalent AND three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Demonstrated skills in organization and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience providing in customer service.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying policies and/or procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in higher education office administration.
• Experience with Workday cloud-based software.
