Position Title: Industrial Designer and Transfer Specialist

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Prepares design equipment to the specification of production schedule.
Modifies and refines design equipment to conform with production specifications or changes.
Advise on issues involving image projects or problems.
Develop & monitor manufacturing procedures to improve design operations and product quality.
Investigate product characteristics such as the product's safety and handling qualities.
Ensures that Design equipment is working safely and efficiently.
Ensures that all goals related to design projects are met by researching production specifications, costs, production materials, and manufacturing methods and provide cost estimates and itemized production requirements.
Troubleshoot and maintain complex electrical, electronics, communication, analyzing error message, and error simulation related to design specifications.
Works closely with transfer team to assure smooth product transfers based upon the design concepts.
Administers company policies correctly and in a uniform manner.
Assists with technical issues on digital printing technologies, and ensures equipment is maintained for proper operation.
Participate in the development of new and innovative projects to establish and evaluate design concepts for production products.
Ensures safe and healthful working conditions and an organized work environment.
Ensures all safety protocols are adhered too.
Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.
Performs other related duties as required.


MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design
10 years of experience in EACH of the following: ceramic tile production, product development, and inkjet technology;
10 years of experience utilizing safety procedures to ensure efficient equipment performance;
10 years of experience required in EACH of the following aspects of the printer workflow: color balance; droplet size; load and print images; and modify images;
10 years of experience with machines and tools within the inkjet technology, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance;
10 years of experience with production problem solving utilizing Kaizen projects within the glaze lines;
10 years of experience in all areas of ceramic tile production processing;
10 years of experience coordinating product transfer activities to include initiation, planning, and execution for projects with tight deadlines; and
10 years of experience in EACH of the following PC operating systems: Windows; MAC; and SAP.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
