REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of successful provision of vocational services to individuals with disabilities is required OR Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields: rehabilitation, counseling and guidance, psychology, education, sociology, social services, liberal arts, or a similar field. Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook and Internet Research. Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record. Proof of current auto liability insurance. Ability to pass a background check. Drug Test upon offer of employment. JOB DESCRIPTION: Training of participants in their workplace to meet the employer’s requirements. Transports participants within community employment sites as consistent with participants’ service plan. Maintain schedule to maximize billable units of service. Maintains daily, accurate documentation of services provided. Completes reports in a timely manner. Assists other departments as requested or assigned. This position works mainly in the community at the participant’s place of employment. The Vocational Support Specialists will also spend time each week in the office for reporting/documentation. Vocational Support Specialists work under the direction of WV DRS Councilors in assessing training needs, setting plans, and working with the participants to have successful outcomes. The Parkersburg Location will be covering the following counties Wood, Wirt, Ritchie, Doddridge and Pleasants. |
