Summary: In this role, the Junior Buyer will assist with procurement and fulfillment for product lines and installation projects. The Junior Buyer will establish clear communication with suppliers and drive actions for timely fulfillment of supplier Purchase Orders (POs) aligned to customer requirements / need-by date.

Education & experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 1 year experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, engineering, and / or manufacturing
  • 1 year of experience with ERP system SAP

Desirable Qualifications:

  • High-energy, self-motivated, willing to take on responsibilities across functions & team’s boundaries, and drive assigned tasks to closure
  • Willingness to visit Suppliers & develop recovery plans, set production priorities, and detail analysis on product work cycle
  • Strong business & financial acumen; understanding of business operations & manufacturing industry
  • Program / Project management skills with horizontal teams
  • Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills, strong PC & database management skills
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and frequently changing priorities
  • Strong oral & written communication skills, and negotiation skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Convert Purchase Requisitions to POs, update PO Promise Dates from suppliers, and manage PO schedule changes / work within standard ERP process
  • Achieve best cost for material with outstanding quality and within customer need-by date
  • Own Fulfillment KPI; On-time PO placement, On-time Delivery, Supplier Promise Date / PO Promise Date accuracy, Deflation, Adherence to Supplier Contracts / Pricing, and invoice resolution
  • Partner with the Supplier Quality & negotiate on Vendor Recovery associated with Liquidated Damages due to delivery & quality issues
  • Hold bi-weekly / monthly rhythm with strategic suppliers for overall supplier performance and ensure best price & lead times are offered by suppliers
  • Partner with engineering and coordinate with suppliers on design change implementation
  • Develop knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes, material and commodity pricing and excellent focus on quality
  • Be a first line of contact and establish strategic relationship with suppliers
