Job Description: |
The Sr. Electrical Engineer researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. • Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates FPGA blocks for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. • Determines design approaches and parameters. • Simulates and/or verifies FPGA designs to ensure proper functionality. • Supports implementation of FPGA designs including synthesis, timing, placement, routing, and power analysis. • Analyzes design to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. • May also review vendor capability to support product development.
Required Knowledge and Experience: • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. • Experience designing Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), digital design of Integrated Circuits (IC), or Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC).
Preferred: • Strong preference for individuals familiar with AMD/Xilinx Zynq FPGAs including Vivado toolset. • For individuals with experience implementing video subsystems in a FPGA design. • Experience with simulation to support verification of above applications, including • Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and constrained random techniques. • Familiarity with requirements driven safety critical government regulated industries such as medical or aerospace / defense. • Experience with digital design implementation including synthesis, timing, placement, routing, and power analysis.
