Wage: $22-$28 (depending on experience + applicable shift differential)
We are searching for our next rock star to train as an operator! Train to operate the glue machine and equipment within the established guidelines, efficiencies, and run speeds while producing a quality product. This department is critical to the success of Sonderen Packaging because it is the last checkpoint to ensure quality standards are met before the product is shipped to the customer.
Essential Functions Include:
- Read, understand, and verify questions on job ticket are accurate and review product with labels and job ticket. Review printing and die-cutting quality.
- Keep the machine and equipment running in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure efficiencies, run speeds, and down time are within specified limits. Assist with troubleshooting and adjusting problems during runs.
- Operators are responsible for contacting a supervisor when quality standards cannot be met.
- Setup and run jobs in the most effective and efficient manner as possible. Assist where needed in the department. Understand how to run all glue and window machines. Accurately complete all paperwork at the end of each run. (Factory tickets, work sheets, and labels on loads)
- Train operators on machine usage. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with all operators through shift transitions. Keep work area nets, clean, and free of hazards.
- While the regular working cycle of this production is five – (8) hour shifts on Monday – Friday, the trainee must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required between the assigned start and end times of work.
- Help case on all machines as needed. Help Tail if needed.
- Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations.

- Performs such individual assignments as management me direct such as helping packers as needed.

What we need from you (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.):
- Familiarity/knowledge of back fold cartons, 4 /6 corners, auto bottom, and straight tuck/inner dividers.
- Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through HS diploma or Equivalent education or an equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work-related experience.
- Six months relevant experience preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with all operators through shift transitions.
- Learn to troubleshoot problems and do preventive maintenance as needed.
Working Condition:
- May need to use forklift, training and certification offered by company.
- Working around equipment/machinery such as glue machine and support equipment.
- Ear plugs, or muffs required due to exposure to excessive noise.
- Potential exposure to dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals.
- Standing and walking consistently during shift.
