Job Description
Introduction to the role
Reporting to the Head of Language Content, you will be responsible for driving user engagement by creating accurate, engaging, and pedagogically sound language-learning content across multiple platforms, including websites and social media.
Key tasks and accountabilities
Create, commission, and edit language-learning content with the aim of driving user engagement to relevant platforms.
Develop or propose engaging blog, newsletter, and social-media content to highlight and enhance Collins’ products, maintaining a consistent voice across all platforms.
Carry out market research and share regular reports on digital language learning.
Language and Content Development
Commission and develop language-learning content for English and other languages, proactively identifying gaps and opportunities that align with the Collins brand.
Convert existing language-learning materials into engaging digital products.
Develop content briefs and guidelines.
Conduct rigorous editing and proofreading of language content prior to release.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the language-learning content and propose ways to improve based on best practice in language education.
Driver user-engagment
Create, commission, or adapt language-learning content for blogs and other social media ensuring that content is optimised for each platform.
Liaise closely with the marketing and Comms teams to ensure that blog and social media content aligns with overall marketing strategy as well as Comms guidelines.
Develop a consistent Collins ‘voice’ for blogs and social media content.
Innovation
Explore and evaluate the use of approved AI tools for content creation.
Develop AI-enhanced editorial workflows that enable a more innovative approach to language learning without sacrificing editorial accuracy and brand guidelines.
Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to integrate AI into workflows.
Stay up to date with AI developments in language learning, and share findings with the Language Content Team.
Skills required
Essential
Undergraduate degree in foreign languages, English, or linguistics.
An understanding of language acquisition methods.
Proven social-media and video-editing skills.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Preferred
Background in language teaching or tutoring, eg TEFL certification.
Experience in educational content creation.
Fluency in at least one foreign language
An awareness of the use of AI in language-learning content and delivery.
