Policy Enforcement Manager, Child Safety, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cyber-security, or a related field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with machine learning.
  • Experience in content policy, anti-abuse and reviewing online content.
  • Experience working with international issues across multiple geographies, including freedom of expression, child safety, or online controversial content.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g. Python).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a Policy Enforcement Manager for Child Safety, you will be responsible for ensuring growth in understanding trends and risks to child safety on YouTube. You'll help implement and enforce policies across videos, as well as define and implement operational plans globally, working with stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Vendor Operations, Analytics, Policy and Legal.

Responsibilities

  • Research and stay up to date on key trends and operating patterns creating a threat.
  • Analyze, identify, prioritize, and deliver strategies to reduce potentially harmful content.
  • Implement strategies on the YouTube platform, working with cross-functional partners, track and monitor performance towards key metrics, and deliver and implement improvement strategies.
  • Manage escalations to define the best plan and implement quickly while providing timely updates to executives.
  • Review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines.
