Responsibilities

This is a remote position and may require up to 10% travel. 


The Value Analysis Manager is responsible for clinical direction within the Med/Surg Nursing category team, with primary focus on cost reduction opportunities, contract utilization and standardization initiatives. This is a clinical expert position that provides input into contracting processes and serves as the clinical resource for new technology and practice.

  • Participates in identifying, planning, and facilitating the implementation of cost reduction initiatives as developed by the category team
  • Collaborates with various teams including national service lines, clinical collaboration groups, divisional implementation, and operations to provide clinical direction on contracting requirements, new technologies, clinical practice standards, and national initiatives within assigned category 
  • Quantifies, analyzes and formulates recommendations for products used within CommonSpirit Health. Leads product evaluations, utilizing value analysis principles, in support of cost savings initiatives
  • Supports best practices and established processes for new product introduction, review, analysis and communication
  • Collaborates with product manufacturers, developing partnerships and insights into their perspectives around product utilization, cost reduction, new technology and opportunities 
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external customers to achieve a maximized level of customer service and optimized cost reduction
  • Keeps current on technology, regulatory and operational trends in the healthcare industry which may impact product/service selection and utilization

Qualifications
  • BS in Nursing or other clinical discipline is required
  • Advanced certification in project management and/or healthcare finance is desirable 
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in Med/Surg operations required
  • ICU/NICU acute care experience preferred
  • Project Management experience is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of Clinical and Non-Clinical Healthcare Products best practices
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities consistent with evidence based practice
  • Knowledge of clinical research criteria and levels of validation as used in decision-making
  • Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to prioritize and manage highly sensitive competing projects
  • Strong ability to form effective work relationships with a variety of stakeholders (e.g., physicians, nurses, administrative, finance, vendor)
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with and literate in supply chain computer applications, Microsoft Office or Google applications and user knowledge of each to achieve supply chain goalsj
