Affixing Lead Job detail

GENERAL PURPOSE: Direct the work of all Affixing employees on the shift.  Maintain proper levels of packing supplies.  Pack, seal, shrink wrap and store pallets of finished goods.  

The Opportunity:

• Checks machine schedules, oversees and directs packers on each piece of equipment.
• Brings corrugated from the warehouse into the production area.
• Cuts layer boards and dividers as needed, operates cutter in proper and safe manner.
• Unloads pallet truck and stores pallets in department for all production lines.
• Ensures all customer requirements are adhered to, according to specific packing instructions.
• Shrink wraps loads for shipment.
• Oversees and performs line clearance procedures when needed.
• Operates all motorized equipment in department:  hand truck, fork lift and corrugated fork lift truck.
• Provides training to other employees.
• Stores incoming corrugated in warehouse racks.
• Checks materials such as tape, labels, shrink wrap and will notify supervisor when materials need to be re-ordered.

Preferred: 

• Must have a minimum of 6 months’ experience working as a Production Worker.  
• Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
• Must demonstrate ability to direct work of others.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
