  • MA in Anthropology or related discipline.
Essential Job Functions
The Department of Anthropology seeks to hire multiple adjunct Instructors for various courses for Spring 2024 and the academic year 2024-25. Instruction may be face-to-face or online, depending on need. Essential job functions include course preparation and delivery, grading, student engagement, and weekly office hours. Instructors are expected to submit materials for departmental and/or General Education assessment as requested by the department chair.

Courses taught may include:
  • ANT 1414 Understanding Culture
  • ANT 1420 Archaeology and the Human Past
  • ANT 1430 Our Primate Heritage (Labs)
  • ANT 2420 Gender, Race, and Class
  • other courses depending on department need and instructor expertise
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Anthropology or related discipline
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Experience teaching online asynchronous courses
  • Experience with and enthusiasm for teaching undergraduate General Education courses
Number of Hours Per Week Varies based on course schedule (maximum 5 courses per academic year)
Number of Months per Year 9
Hiring Range Commensurate with qualifications and equity
