Position: Substitute Food Service Worker
Alabama School for the Blind, Alabama School for the Deaf
Helen Keller School, E.H. Gentry, Alabama Industries for the Blind

Work Schedule - as needed not to exceed 29 hours a week

Position Requirements:

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be physically able to perform job
Must follow all AIDB policies and procedures and state and federal laws

Must be able to adhere to confidentiality requirements
Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs duties in the absence of full time AIDB staff as required for position including, but not limited to the following:

Food Service Worker:

Responsible for preparation, cooking and serving of meals to students, staff and guests.
Wash pots and pans as required and keep work area clean.
Maintain cleanliness of cooler, freezer, stoves, fryers and other equipment involved in food preparation and serving.
Responsible for general clean-up in kitchen, serving line, dining room and other facilities where food may be served. Responsibilities include mopping and sweeping.
Operate dish washer, wash pots and pans, clean food service equipment and take trash to dumpster.
May assist cook in preparation of certain food items, including salad bar.
Assist in the serving of food to students, staff and guests.
Fill food requisitions and put up stock.
Other duties as assigned

PAYROLL: $10.00 hourly rate
