We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our client's team based in Washington D.C.. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and make a meaningful impact on our client's organization. Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel, is required. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities
Processing Payroll: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and bonuses.
Maintaining Payroll Records: Keep detailed records of employee wages, tax withholdings, benefits, and other relevant information.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements. Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations.
Payroll Taxes: Calculate and process payroll taxes, including federal and state income tax withholdings, Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment taxes.
Responding to Inquiries: Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and benefits. Provide assistance and guidance as needed.
Timekeeping Systems: Manage timekeeping systems to accurately track employee hours worked, overtime, and time off.
Auditing and Reconciliation: Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other departments as needed.
Payroll Deductions: Process various payroll deductions such as wage garnishments, child support payments, and employee loans.
Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing
