POSITION PURPOSE The William E. Boeing Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics (A&A) and Human Centered Design and Engineering Department (HCDE) within the College of Engineering have an outstanding opportunity for a Grants and Contracts Manager. The Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics offers the only aerospace degree program in the Pacific Northwest, a region whose aerospace industry has been a major contributor to the technological development, economic vitality and the security of the United States. Our faculty, students and alumni are at the nexus of new space, and are creating the future of automated aerospace manufacturing, novel aerospace materials, and autonomous aerospace systems. Putting people first, HCDE students and faculty research, design, and engineer interactions between people and technology. HCDE integrates principles from engineering, psychology, computer science, and design to develop solutions to large-scale problems that prioritize user needs and experiences. With a focus on human-centered methodologies, HCDE has a world-renowned reputation for excellence in interdisciplinary research. The department offers four academic programs and connects with industry and external partners through a community affiliate program. A&A and HCDE have an outstanding opportunity for a Grants and Contracts Manager to join our administrative team. Under the general supervision of the A&A department administrator in collaboration with the HCDE administrator, this individual will manage part of A&A’s and HCDE’s grant and contract program and financial reporting of grants, contracts, and sub-awards. The position supports their own portfolio of grants and contracts and works as part of a collaborative team with both Departments. The William E. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Pre-Award Grant and Contract Process (30%) Post-Award and Subaward Grant and Contract Process (30%) Responsible for Sponsor and Internal Reporting for Grants and Contracts (20%) Administrative Duties (20%) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
