Program Manager, Payments Data Protection and Compliance

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 3 years of experience in an information technology role, with 2 years of experience in a security compliance role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Certifications in CISSP, CISA, GIAC, or related information security certifications.
  • 5 years of experience in regulatory or compliance with any of the following: PCI DSS, SSAE16/18 SOC1 and SOC2, ISO27K, Privacy Shield, GDPR, US state data protection regulations such as CPRA and VCDPA.
  • 4 years of experience working in risk management and risk frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-30, OCTAVE, ISO31K).
  • 3 years of experience working with third-party risk measurement, monitoring, management, and response.
  • Knowledge of payments, consumer applications and financial services.

In this role, you will be a key player in data protection and relationship management to lead internal programs aimed at identifying and mitigating security risks in our connection to vendors and partners ensuring security compliance with partners and customers and driving design changes to increase the security and robustness of our integrations with credit-card networks, banks and other financial services companies. You will also lead internal programs aimed at protecting our users and ensuring security and data protection standards are maintained with our integrators and third parties.

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the program lead for privacy, security and compliance programs and serve as the Chief Information Security Officer for Google India Digital Services (GIDS), playing a major role in managing cross-functional programs to continuously improve the security posture of Google’s consumer payments products and infrastructure in India.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for matters related to information security, technology, data protection, etc.
  • Lead program management for one or multiple security engineering, privacy, and compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments of third-party vendors, partners, product areas, and infrastructure to ensure services and/or integrations meet Google security and privacy standards and minimize security risks to Google and protect Google’s users in India.
  • Work with product and engineering teams to design products with security and data protection.
