Job Responsibilities
Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support an Advanced Programs significant development program with the potential to be a franchise program. to be based in Grand Prairie, TX.
The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support suppliers across the United States.
Duties may include:
Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first articles, and product validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards
Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions.
Support Supplier requests tied to program , interface with customer needs and program management activities
Participate (as required) in supplier's failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities
Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents and provide written weekly reports
Provide technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters
Ensure supplier contract flow-down are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis
Relocation: Relocation assistance is possible for this exciting position.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors level degree or higher and/or equivalent experience/combined education
Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain a security clearance
Must have the ability to work flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area (up to 25%) to support suppliers across the United States.
A thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
A thorough understanding of engineering
Must be able to identify and document quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action
Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems
Understanding engineering drawings mechanical and electrical inspection methods
A basic understanding of special processes
An overall understanding of how to manage and interface with suppliers on a daily bases to support the Program
Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions
Must have knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing/surveying capabilities
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
Must be able to multi-task
Effective communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports
Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives
Desired Skills:
STEM degree at bachelors level or higher preferred
Experience with Aerospace Electrical Design, Electrical Components, Printed Wiring Boards, Printed Wiring Assemblies, Wiring Harness, Connectors
Experience with J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-620
A basic understanding of the MFC SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business
ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt/Black Belt)
Experience with working with suppliers in a dynamic environment
Experience with performing First Article Inspections to AS9102
Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers
Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management
Demonstrated Leadership, Customer Relationship Management skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
