About the Team:
The Onboarding, Connectivity, and Enablement (OCE) Team is dedicated to safeguarding AT&T's data while ensuring that Business Unit Organizations (BUs) can swiftly, compliantly, and cost-effectively establish Non-Payroll Worker (NPW) connectivity. Our team plays a crucial role in balancing robust security measures with the operational needs of the business, thereby protecting AT&T data without compromising revenue generation.
Role Overview: The Lead System Engineer will primarily focus on automation, tools, and data-related projects within the OCE Team. This role involves developing and maintaining automation scripts, creating new tools for the team, and managing data processes to support the team's objectives. While the core responsibilities will revolve around these areas, there is potential for involvement in broader team initiatives in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation and Tools Development:
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and other relevant programming languages.
Create and enhance tools to improve team efficiency and support secure and compliant connectivity.
Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for automation and tool development.
Data Management:
Manage data processes to support connectivity provisioning and compliance efforts.
Develop data-driven solutions to enhance the team's ability to monitor and manage network security.
Provide data analysis and reporting to support decision-making and risk management.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with the Chief Security Office (CSO), Global Technology Organization (GTO), Business Units (BUs), Network teams, and Compliance departments to ensure secure and compliant connectivity.
Participate in project planning, system and solution demos, and retrospective workshops.
Assist with troubleshooting and isolating IP/Port issues and provide PMATT support for firewall cutovers.
Future Development:
Explore opportunities to develop new tools, automation, and applications that support the team's evolving needs.
Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in automation, data management, and network security.
Required Experience:
3 – 5 years' basic Linux command line knowledge.
3 – 5 years' experience with Bash scripting or other Linux/Unix shells (e.g., KSH).
3 – 5 years' experience with Python programming language.
3 – 5 years' experience building applications using Python and Python libraries.
Experience with MS SQL, Oracle, and SQL databases.
Experience with on-premise systems is essential, while working knowledge of Azure cloud (Portal and Terraform for pipelines) is desirable but not required.
Preferred but Not Required:
Experience with web development frameworks such as Django or Flask.
Experience with automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, for potential future projects.

Our Lead System Engineering earns between $128,400 - $215,800 annually.Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
