    We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to assist a client in the gaming industry, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, the Accounting Specialist will support daily operations and assist with month-end processes, ensuring seamless financial workflows, entering of invoices and scanning. This position requires working with a sense of urgency given the backlog, attention to detail, and a commitment to working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The Accounting Specialist will also work closely with the Controller & Director to assist with special projects surrounding account reconciliations, and documentation of standard operating procedures. Candidates with strong Accounts Payable and GL Accounting experience are encouraged to apply.

     

    Responsibilities for the Accounting Specialist:

    • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding in alignment with company procedures.

    • Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

    • Execute check runs and manage payment schedules efficiently.

    • Handle data entry tasks to support timely and accurate reporting.

    • Assist in month-end close activities, including working overtime and weekends as required.

    • Utilize Infinium or AS400 systems to complete accounting tasks effectively.

    • Collaborate with purchasing and hospitality departments to ensure smooth financial operations.

    • Support casino gaming-related financial activities in compliance with industry standards.

    • Maintain strong attention to detail while managing high volumes of transactions.

    • Assist with prior year review of specific account reconciliations.

    • Learn, review and document current procedures for purchase orders.

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related field.

    • Prior GL experience, experience with special projects surrounding documenting SOPs is highly preferred.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis.

    • Familiarity with Infinium or AS400 systems is highly preferred.

    • Experience in the casino gaming or hospitality industry is a plus.

    • Ability to work onsite five days a week and adapt to overtime or weekend shifts during month-end.

    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
