    We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is ideal for someone with extensive accounting expertise who thrives in fast-paced environments. You will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

    Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and review journal entries with precision to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to uphold the integrity of financial data.
    • Perform detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
    • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions.
    • Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
    • Assist in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and operating budgets.
    • Apply GAAP and US GAAP principles to all accounting procedures.
    • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
    • Execute month-end and year-end accounting close processes to finalize financial statements.
    • Analyze aging accounts and chart of accounts to support strategic decision-making.
    • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in intermediate-level roles.
    • Proficiency in journal entry preparation and general ledger management.
    • Strong skills in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
    • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and US GAAP standards.
    • Expertise in financial tools such as Microsoft Excel and 10-key accounting systems.
    • Experience in managing accounts payable and the accounting cycle.
    • Familiarity with annual budget preparation and operating budget analysis.
    • Background in county government accounting is a plus.
