Description
Our Water Division is experiencing significant growth, presenting the opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in our Brisbane office. This position is crucial for providing technical expertise and lead technical teams to develop and deliver the most appropriate technical solution for key water and wastewater projects.
A day in the life of a Senior Mechanical Engineer looks like:
Undertake a range of duties in carrying out and/or managing designs and engineering projects to provide high level technical service to internal and external clients.
Work collaboratively with our clients to deliver new infrastructure and upgrades across the asset lifecycle
Conduct and manage site surveys and investigations, produce calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure that technical designs provide appropriate solutions
Provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering to meet project needs
Plan, program and coordinate the specific projects, as lead mechanical engineer, to deliver the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards
Lead and manage proposal development including preparing value propositions, methodologies, fee estimates, risk reviews, arrange legal reviews, terms and conditions etc.
Liaise with Project Managers to set and maintain budgets and ensure project managers are informed of the timing, costs and any other pertinent issues
Ability to lead the delivery of projects, and liaise with clients and other stakeholders when necessary
Organise tender documents, evaluate tenders and contracts
Supervise and mentor junior staff in your field of expertise
To be successful for this role you'll present:
Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field along with CPEng (or ability to obtain).
A minimum of 6 to 8-years mechanical/infrastructure engineering experience – design and construction.
Exceptional leadership abilities including managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Advanced knowledge of water and wastewater services and the delivery environment.
Strong experience in the assessment and management of risk
Highly developed problem solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes that arise
Strong understanding of D&C or alternative delivery projects.
Solid communication skills across written and verbal modes of communication with the ability to tell a compelling story.
