Family Peer Advocate Level 2 Per diem - <LI> High school diploma or GED <LI> Lived experience as a parent or primary care giver of a child with special needs <P> Skills <LI> Ability to advocate for self and others <LI> Ability to communicate clearly, including active listening <LI> Knowledge of recovery approaches <LI> The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs. <LI> Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY State <P> RESPONSIBLE TO: Supervisor <P> MAJOR FUNCTIONS: <LI> Complete credentialing requirements and participate in on-going continuing education <LI> Provide peer to peer support <LI> Share common experiences <LI> Participate in care planning <LI> Provide transportation <LI> Facilitate community orientation/integration <LI> Actively participate in scheduled supervision <LI> Facilitate support groups <LI> Assist others in recovery based on individual need and cultural considerations <LI> Participate in all required training <LI> Represent the Agency and program in the community and with other service providers <LI> Regular and substantial contact with individuals receiving support <LI> Perform other related tasks as directed by supervisor <P> Requirements - <LI> Reference Check. <P> In compliance with all applicable government laws, rules, regulations and standards and all Catholic Charities Policies and Procedures the duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the above. <P> Catholic Charities of Broome County is an equal opportunity employer.
