JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Join a vibrant, dynamic, and collaborative
legal team to advance the mission of MercyHealth and community - to
provide exceptional health services with a passion for making lives
better. This position will provide excellent legal advice and counsel to
MercyHealth and the Head of Legal as relates to employment and labor
matters for our dedicated staff of employees. This position will also be
a key legal and business partner for the organization and the primary
legal counsel for all employment-related matters in conjunction with the
Head of Legal. The position is open to remote and hybrid opportunities.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Regular
engagement with VP and senior level leaders to provide advice and
counsel on a broad range of employment matters including, but not
limited to, employment contracts, temporary staffing, discipline and
terminations, state regulatory board reporting, and immigration
compliance; Draft and revise employment, locums, and staffing contracts;
advise on employment related matters as necessary in support of
organizational growth initiatives; Provide training and support on
employment and general Human Resources matters to HR and business
partners, including but not limited to, FMLA, ERISA, Fair Labor
Standards, OSHA, paid leave, etc.; Supervise and work closely with
outside counsel to timely identify and minimize business risks within
budget and risk parameters; Draft and negotiate employment contracts,
staffing arrangements, settlement agreements, and other
employment-related agreements; Support the continuous improvement of
process and standard form agreements/contract templates as well as
employment, conduct, and conflict related policies; Support and advise
the Head of Legal in employee and related matters; Support and advise
medical staff related matters in coordination with other team members;
Monitor trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to support the
organization in matters related to corporate compliance with employment
