Pay Rate: $55,670 - $91,563
Staff Structural Engineer
Delve Underground has an immediate opening for an entry level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with 0 to 2 years of relevant experience to join our Portland, OR or Seattle, WA team delivering tunnels, underground, and water infrastructure projects. Preferably, the candidate will have experience/interest in geotechnical engineering, excavation support, or trenchless technologies.
Responsibilities:
Perform geotechnical engineering analysis and design calculations under the direction of senior engineers
Assist with tunnel and shaft design, slope stability and excavation support analysis
Assist with seismic response analysis, liquefaction and ground deformation analysis
Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, implementation
Prepare technical reports
Assist with the preparation of construction drawings and specifications
Review contractor submittals
Work on a variety of office and field assignments
Qualifications:
BS in Civil or Geological/Geotechnical Engineering, MS preferred
Ability to manage a number of concurrent assignments and priorities
Strong analytical and technical communication skills
Completion of relevant coursework or experience in several of the following: geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, slope stability, foundation engineering, finite element analysis, tunneling, subsurface investigation methods
Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software for stability analysis, seepage analysis, shoring analysis and site response analysis is a plus
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain one within 1 year
Willingness to travel for short-term assignments
