Order#: NY1522927 Maintenance Mechanic II - Sewer The Town of Webster is seeking a permanent full time Maintenance Mechanic II interested in a public sector career. Must be able to thrive in an environment dedicated to excellence, safety and public service. This is a year-round 40-hour per week position with opportunity for overtime. Typical Duties: (and others as assigned) Assist with installation, maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of sewer collection system components; Performs semi skilled work or assists a skilled worker in one or more of the mechanical or construction trades, such as masonry, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, welding, automotive repair, sewage facilities, and other mechanical operations; Assists with the repair, maintenance, and installation of pumps; Operates commercial vehicles and heavy equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, skid steers, etc. used for sewer maintenance; Excavates, installs and repairs sewer pipes and pump stations; Performs welding, metal fabrication, mechanical repairs and/or machine shop work; Performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance duties. Preferred Qualifications: Class B CDL with clean driving record Experience with electrical and mechanical repairs, especially pumps Commitment, common sense, and ambition for a life-long career Minimum Qualifications, either: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus six (6) months of paid full time or its part time equivalent work experience in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades; OR Graduation from a techinal high school or trade school with a major in electrical, mechanical or construction trades.
