Responsibilities

The Learning Services Mechanical Maintenance Instructor plays a crucial role in delivering high-level workforce development and training, ensuring team performance, and aligning with customer needs. This position focuses on developing, writing, updating, and delivering training content for apprenticeship and non-apprentice craft training programs.

  • Develop and deliver training materials on company processes and technologies.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop apprentices to become highly skilled Maintenance Mechanics.
  • Document apprentice progress and evaluate their performance throughout their Related Instruction.
  • Stay updated on industry knowledge and technologies for enhancing training programs.
  • Facilitate an environment conducive to learning and implement instructional design methodologies.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure program success and address any weaknesses in training.
  • Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Two-year Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent (5+ years field experience may substitute for degree)
  • Completion of Eastman Apprenticeship for internal applicants
  • General Maintenance Mechanic, Training Coordinator, or possess equivalent experience in rotating mechanics.
  • Previous training experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Criterion Referenced Instruction methodology or similar training methods
  • Three or more years of teaching/training experience, preferably in a maintenance or operations environment
  • Seven or more years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred; experience in the chemical industry is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership
