Responsibilities
The Learning Services Mechanical Maintenance Instructor plays a crucial role in delivering high-level workforce development and training, ensuring team performance, and aligning with customer needs. This position focuses on developing, writing, updating, and delivering training content for apprenticeship and non-apprentice craft training programs.
- Develop and deliver training materials on company processes and technologies.
- Coach, mentor, and develop apprentices to become highly skilled Maintenance Mechanics.
- Document apprentice progress and evaluate their performance throughout their Related Instruction.
- Stay updated on industry knowledge and technologies for enhancing training programs.
- Facilitate an environment conducive to learning and implement instructional design methodologies.
- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure program success and address any weaknesses in training.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Two-year Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent (5+ years field experience may substitute for degree)
- Completion of Eastman Apprenticeship for internal applicants
- General Maintenance Mechanic, Training Coordinator, or possess equivalent experience in rotating mechanics.
- Previous training experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Criterion Referenced Instruction methodology or similar training methods
- Three or more years of teaching/training experience, preferably in a maintenance or operations environment
- Seven or more years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred; experience in the chemical industry is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership
