Job Description

The intern’s primary function is observing & supporting our engineering & CAD team. The Engineering Intern spends a large portion of their time shadowing our team, learning best engineering practices. This role is best suited for individuals who prefer a structured work environment with consistent guidance. This is a paid, temporary role that does not offer insurance, paid holidays, vacation time, or participation in the company’s 401k plan. This is not a remote role; interns are expected to perform their duties from our location in Perry, FL.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $20.00/Hour

Duration of Role: This is a temporary position lasting for a single school semester. Estimated duration is May 6^th - August 23^rd, 2024.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Create and update project records.
Attend meetings with project stakeholders.
Observe engineering team and successfully execute processes and procedures.
Conduct internet research.
Assist with preparation of project sketches.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Must have working knowledge of design and modeling software.

Education and Experience:

Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering

Physical Demands:

Must be able to accurately exchange information with co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
Professional appearance.
Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as copiers, printers, and telephones.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 95% of the time.

Normal office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. Candidates must work between 24 - 27 hours per week but may flex their schedule within normal office hours.
