Job Description:
At Regions, the Risk Analyst performs advanced risk analyst duties as a first or second- line of defense function for the bank. This position will lead the coordination efforts with internal and external parties to conduct financial reporting, controls, policy and procedure documentation, governance activities, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, this position will develop and implement independent reporting and/or financial analysis to assist in the Risk team’s oversight role. This role will also lead improvement efforts and provide regular updates on various practices, reports, policies, and procedures within the department.
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as subject-matter expert and oversees day-to-day identification, measurement, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting
Designs, develops, and reports independent analyses that provide greater insight into risk exposures and mitigation efforts
Enhances team processes and updates policies and procedures to reflect improvements
Leads the team’s preparation and involvement in regulatory examinations, which may include the annual Federal Reserve stress tests, examinations, etc.
Remains well informed of regulatory and industry practices and alerts team of updates
Resolves a range of standard to complex problems and analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures
Works towards mastery of knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers
May serve on related committees and/or working groups
May perform financial stress testing simulations
Offers advice and guidance to junior analysts, assisting in the development of necessary skills and the promotion of continuous improvement initiatives
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field
Six (6) years of related experience
Advanced knowledge of fundamental risk theories, principles, and concepts
Skills and Competencies
Ability to learn additional systems as needed
Ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts
Ability to work in a team environment when applicable
Ability to work under limited guidance
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Additional Job Description
Identifies, monitors, and report risks that are emerging for Technology, Operations, Digital and Data (TODD).
Collaborates and coordinates within TODD teams and key stakeholders to promote consistent risk approach
Advise and provide process improvement strategies on existing procedures and processes to ensure effectiveness within the organization
Contribute to effective governance materials and meetings to ensure the Technology and Operations Risk Oversight Committee (TOROC) is positioned to execute its duties
Identify, create, and challenge metrics to aid in driving better stakeholder monitoring results and increased efficiency
Executes risk assessments, issues management outreach and/or issue management administration
Provides support for TODD partners in regulatory exams, governmental agency audits, and/or internal audits
Provides Project Management of multiple initiatives while adhering to deadlines
Obtains and maintains necessary training to keep current on the discipline of Risk Management
Produces and/or reviews team presentations and deliverables to stakeholders, including oversight committees
Solves for range of complex problems
Design presentations and/or workshop materials for TODD risk training curriculum
Key contributor to design enhancements of Risk program components, including frameworks, reporting, policies, and procedures
Identify, champion, or lead creation of process procedures and challenge existing procedures to drive efficiency
May offer guidance to junior analysts, ensuring proper training and tools are provided
May create project plans, timelines, critical paths, and milestones
Skills and Competencies

Preferences
Master’s degree in related field
Experience with project management leadership, including cross-functional projects
Proficiency with project management software (ex: Microsoft Project, JIRA)
Proficiency utilizing business intelligence software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
Experience utilizing analytical software such as Structured Query Language (SQL), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), and applicable Microsoft Office applications
This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary locations being for Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC . Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
