Description

The Director of Category Management and Insights role at Clemens Food Group leads a team of category and insight managers responsible for creating and implementing the strategy for their respective categories.  Category strategy is inclusive of innovation, optimization, and sales enablement that will be the engine for growth within Clemens Food Group.
Talent Management
Hire, onboard and develop Category Managers and overall team talent pool
Lead direct reports to set clear priorities and objectives in line with CFG talent management process
Perform monthly coaching sessions with direct reports intended to coach and develop individuals to meet short-term and long-term objectives
Establish and monitor KPIs of team. Identify and implement corrective action when off-track
Establish succession plan, and build network to develop pipeline of future talent
Strategic Planning
Lead the development process for the category management function, bringing best practices together with continuous improvement of the CFG process to deliver a sustaining category management approach for the organization
Lead the strategic planning process to identify category priorities and sequencing to ensure the team addresses highest impact opportunities
Support the category managers as they develop category go to market strategies, conduct new concept assessments, and build a comprehensive innovation pipeline
Identify and generate insights to ground the company in the category management and planning process
Guide the delivery of clear category planning documents that drive activity throughout the organization, imbedding input from key partners such as sales and marketing
Performance Management
Develop and manage the structure, processes and development of the category management team to maximize the ROI around the discipline of category management
Monitor, manage, and report on results to plan - Measure category plan effectiveness, communicate results, and optimize for improved ROI
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure the organization is able to react to changing conditions and drive a high level of continuous improvement across all functional areas
Premium Program Management
Develop, communicate and align long-term Premium Program business plan with CFG Senior Leadership Team
Develop, communicate and align overall Premium Program annual operating plan with stakeholders across the business
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership to determine annual marketing and sales budgets
Collaborate with CVFF leadership to set future vision of hog supply evolution
Collaborate with R&D and QA to identify pipeline for future product development based on anticipated trends
Participate in strategic customer appointments
Team CFG
Participate in corporate Initiatives outside of normal daily responsibilities as required
Participate in organizational development activities, including training, engagement, and DE&I sessions
Participate in external activities including industry and community outreach initiatives

Bachelors (required)

Experience
5 years: Experience in Category Management. Bachelors' Degree required, MBA Preferred. Experience Leading a Team. Protein Preferred and strong Project Management Skills needed. (required)
