    Staff Accountant - Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and record journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, and recurring transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting.

    • Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.

    • Perform bank reconciliations and address any variances in a timely manner.

    • Oversee the accounts payable process, including invoice uploads, coding, and monitoring payment statuses.

    • File required tax returns, such as gross receipts, sales and use taxes, and Maryland personal property tax reports.

    • Manage ground rent processing, including responding to status requests, tracking settlements, and handling annual billing and receipt entries.

    • Facilitate the electronic deposit process by preparing, scanning, and submitting checks while maintaining accurate records.

    • Assist with the preparation and organization of documentation for the annual audit process.

    • Update third-party portals with current financial statements, accounts receivable reports, and rent rolls on a regular basis.

    • Provide administrative and accounting support to property managers and assist with lease administration tasks as needed.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

    • Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with internal teams, vendors, tenants, and landlords.

    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently on routine tasks without supervision.

    • Proficiency in accounting software and tools, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

    • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

    • Familiarity with lease administration processes is a plus but not required.

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

    • 0-2 years of relevant experience in accounting or a related field.
