    PURPOSE AND SCOPE

    The Project Development Support Officer plays a pivotal role within Amentum’s Engineering, Projects, Integration & Construction (EPIC) department, headquartered in Alice Springs. Reporting to the Proposals

    Manager, this position is a key contributor in the Project Development Office to provide administrative support to the leadership team. This role will be responsible for coordinating reporting, document control and

    heavily supporting the lifecycle of proposals, costings and scheduling execution. This position ensures seamless project execution by providing insights, comprehensive reporting, administrative and proposals coordination. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a qualification in business or project management. Advanced computer literacy, ability to communicate well with stakeholders and flawless time management is essential.

    Responsibilities include, yet not limited to:

    • Assist in proposals, costings and scheduling planning, execution and reporting.

    • Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders.

    • Provide administrative support to the Project Development Office leadership team.

    • Organize meetings, prepare agendas and track action items.

    • Ensure project documentation is maintained and transitioned effectively.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in tracking project milestones, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.

    • Prepare detailed project reports, compile data-driven insights, and support decision-making with clear documentation.

    • Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and track action items for project leadership. This includes overseeing document control, ensuring accurate version tracking and compliance with company policies.

    • Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, and vendors, ensuring clarity in project expectations. This includes drafting professional correspondence, presentations, and stakeholder updates.

    • Support adherence to governing policies, project governance frameworks, and industry standards.

    • Provide operational support for budget estimates, cost analysis, and change variation management with detailed documentation.

    • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain real-time development status of all active projects.

    • Support the continuous improvement program of the project development department. Demonstrate the ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.

    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project to support project documentation and communication efforts

    • Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliance at the site and within the workplace.

    • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Essential

    • Diploma in Business Administration, Office Management or related fields

    • Field: Business, Management, or Project Management.

    Desirable

    • Certification in Administrative Support Executive Assistance or Project Coordination. Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, Management, or Project Management.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Minimum Essential

    • Proficiency in filing systems, document management, and version control.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proven experience working in in large-scale, complex projects.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

    • Proposal and Project Management process knowledge

    Desirable

    • Document Management experience

    • SharePoint experience • Pricing Experience

    • MS Office suite of tools with specifics to MS Excel.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

    Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

    It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance w/ Poly.

    STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

    All personnel assigned shall be:

    • At least 18 years of age.

    • Able to fluently read, write and speak English

    EHS REQUIREMENT

    All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of the EHS Handbook, each person is responsible for:

    Completing work tasks in a safe manner

    Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager

    Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the EHS Handbook during the performance of their work

    Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment
