The Product Manager is responsible for the Regional Market product planning and execution, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, working closely with engineering, sales, and marketing for the purpose of identifying and winning profitable new business while achieving customer satisfaction during the acquisition process including eQR role for the region.
The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the worldwide PL MES strategy as well as BU/Segment overall strategy and goals.
The Product Manager is expected:
- To effectively present technical product details to the customer and to provide clear direction to the internal resources how to proceed with the acquisition. Must be able to also demonstrate working knowledge of engine application/system related to MES product portfolio.
- To establish initial customer technical relationship and then develop this into a close working, regular interface for the purpose of identifying and working on new business opportunities.
- To support and provide inputs on regional market product strategy and roadmap in accordance to WW Product Mgt strategy (trends at customers, suppliers, competition, technologies).
- To deliver regional market product requirements with prioritized features and associated justification.
- To support or drive generic/innovative programs with early-stage products and samples coordination activities within product management.
- To support Sales or Business Development activities (fairs/tech day/advanced development meetings) with adequate documentation and coordination of show-and-tell samples.
- To perform product demos to customers.
- Travel estimated 10-20% of time to local and international sites.
Required experience and knowledge
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the automotive industry (preferred electrification and vehicle access experience). Less experience candidates to be considered on case-by-case basis for development into this role.
