We are seeking a highly motivated and visionary Director of Career and Technical Education, Instructional Innovation, and Counseling to join our dynamic team in the School Division. The successful candidate will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational experience and preparing students for success in their careers and personal lives. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, instructional leadership, and a passion for student development.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) program aligned with industry standards and workforce demands.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and industry partners to design and revise CTE curriculum pathways that provide students with relevant skills and knowledge for future careers.
• Lead efforts to bring innovative teaching practices across the division, fostering a culture of creativity and adaptability.
• Provide leadership and guidance to counselors and support staff to ensure students receive comprehensive counseling services that address academic, career, and social-emotional needs.
• Oversee the development and implementation of programs to support student academic and career planning, including career exploration activities, internships, and work-based learning opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of CTE programs, instructional innovation initiatives, and counseling services through data analysis and feedback mechanisms.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in CTE, instructional technology, and counseling to continuously improve programs and services.
• Collaborate with district leadership to secure funding and resources for CTE programs, innovative learning programs, and counseling services.
• Serve as a liaison between the school division, community organizations, businesses, and higher education institutions to foster partnerships that support student success and workforce development.
• Represent the school division at meetings, conferences, and events related to CTE, instructional innovation, and counseling.
• Facilitate meetings of the Halifax County Vocational Education Foundation.

• Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Valid administrative license or certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership, with a focus on CTE, curriculum & instruction, and/or counseling.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CTE curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment practices.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve common goals.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
• Experience with grant writing and budget management preferred.
