Order#: NY1496570 Purchasing Manager $65,000 - $75,000/yearly Description The Purchasing Manager oversees the profitable procurement and timely delivery of products for the Companys e-commerce platforms, both domestically and internationally. This role collaborates with the Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to meet the company's objectives, ensuring supply chain and inventory management align with a dynamic merchandise mix and related financial responsibilities. All procurement actions must adhere to company-set policies and procedures, considering both local and global market dynamics. Responsibilities: Efficiently purchase inventory, supplies, and capital equipment. Periodically evaluate vendors/suppliers, notifying management if vendors do not meet performance or quality standards. Process purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy and appropriate authorization. Propose new or substitute vendors when beneficial. Issue and manage purchase orders; negotiate prices, delivery, and credit terms in line with company policies and procedures. Keep comprehensive purchasing records. Implement risk management for supply contracts and agreements. Establish and oversee the procurement budget. Develop and apply effective sourcing strategies. Harness research skills to identify and engage with profitable suppliers, and negotiate beneficial terms. Establish and nurture business partnerships. Supervise supply needs and approve the procurement of necessary goods and services. Oversee end-to-end workflow, from order initiation to delivery completion. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring updated vendor records. Analyze inventory reorder levels and pricing tiers to ensure cost-effective purchasing in alignment with the companys capital costs. Generate monthly procurement reports, review forecasts of purchasing commitments, and assess performance against targets. Collaborate with the warehousing and distribution teams to ensure seamless integration of purchasing plans with inventory management and logistics. Stay abreast of market trends and technological advancements in the e-commerce industry to inform purchasing strategies. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement and inventory management. Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise in the procurement process. Handle additional purchasing, inventory, and accounting tasks as required or requested. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar role, specifically within the e-commerce sector. Proficient in sourcing and procurement techniques with a keen ability to forecast market trends. Strong experience in data collection and analysis. Comprehensive understanding of procurement, logistics, and inventory management practices. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive decision-making attitude. Organized, with efficient planning skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to nurture business relationships both internally and externally. Proficiency in spreadsheet, word-processing software, and other relevant e-commerce and inventory management tools.
