Principal Engineer, AI, Trust, Security, Site Reliability Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in technical leadership and setting technical direction for engineering projects.
  • Experience in architecting, designing, and developing distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing and implementing technical programs in security and/or AI engineering or product/platform design.
  • Leadership experience in the security, reliability and resilience space. Experience having impact over a large-scale of users.
  • Experience leading and implementing engineering projects at an executive level within multinational and distributed organizations.
  • Experience partnering and leading by influence, as well as working with stakeholders and collaborating across organizational boundaries.
  • Understanding of compute, networking, application stacks, and supporting product features, services, and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Create the reality of a stable, secure, and trustworthy integrated cloud AI platform for a diverse pool of customers and workloads worldwide.
  • Balance feature velocity with reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with a wide and diverse array of teams working in the Cloud AI, Security, and Sovereign Workloads space to set the technical direction for AI, trust, and security.
  • Challenge our approach and status quo to elevate our platform reliability, security, and resilience beyond our current capabilities.
  • Contribute to our most complex technical projects and externally visible product decisions, using your technical acumen, problem-solving abilities, and good judgment to help build scalable and future-proof Google systems.
