Job Description
Plant Manager
  • A Plant Manager, or Manufacturing Plant Manager, at Thermal Seal Duct Systems, is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing plants and their employees. Their duties include hiring and training manufacturing plant employees, reviewing production records to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and coordinating with corporate management to enforce changes to plant budgets or safety procedures.

Responsibilities for Plant Manager
  • Direct and coordinate daily operations of the manufacturing plant
  • Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance
  • Develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performance
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Screen, interview and manage the onboarding process of new hires
  • Provide training and educational materials to staff as necessary
  • Monitor equipment and ensure that they are in good working order
  • Repair or replace plant equipment as needed
Qualifications for Plant Manager
  • Proven experience working in plant operations required
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating plants
  • Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer technology
  • Familiar with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
  • TIG and MIG welding experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial attributes. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Able to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a time
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a variety of pant environments when needed.
  • Always be a team player


Salary will commence with education and experience. Full time, first shift position, 40 hours a week, can lead to additional hours during busy months.

Company Profile:

We started the process to patent the duct work which is now called Thermal Seal Duct in late 2004-early 2005. We worked under a provisional patent until April of 2010. While manufacturing the duct under our Provisional Patent, companies in the food processing arena, such as Nestle, Hormel, General Mills and ConAgra foods realized our product provided them with ductwork that was impervious to any outside air, virtually eliminating condensation, which allows microorganisms and bacteria into the systems' airflow.

There are three different types of duct that we offer - Star 2, Star 3 and Star 4. Each are double-wall foam-insulated Stainless Steel inside duct with either a galvanized outside skin, or Stainless Steel skin for duct located inside the food processing area.

Since 2005, our sales have doubled every year and our customer base has increased year after year, to the point where another expansion was necessary.

In March of 2011, we purchased property at 27 Superior Drive in Rome, Georgia and currently employ 21 people. Our Ponca City office currently employs 24. Our Ponca City office will fabricate everything West of the Mississippi and our Rome office will fabricate everything East of the Mississippi. With both offices helping each other when needed. The shops are supported by two field installation crews who work almost year round installing Thermal Seal Duct all over the country.
