ABOUT THE ROLE

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of Enterprise IT will lead our dynamic Information Security and IT organization for one of the top e-commerce companies revolutionizing how people shop. Reporting directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of information security, including Cloud Security, DevSecOps, Security Operations, and Security Strategy. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems to support our rapidly evolving business while adhering to industry best practices. As Head of Information Technology, you’ll also be responsible for all areas of the IT organization including IT Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications and Insights, Business Systems, Employee Technology Services, and IT Analytics. 

The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader who possesses a complementary balance of business and technology in a SaaS environment with an emphasis on business value, quality and optimization of service, system integrity and stability.

In addition to the operational responsibility, this is a strategic leadership role that requires strong partnership with almost every function across the company, including Engineering, Algorithms, Security, Product, Finance, Marketing, Client Services, Warehouse Operations and work seamlessly with the executive team. Partnering with other senior leaders across the company, you’ll translate information technology capabilities into strategic business decisions.  You’ll build a strong long-term technology strategy that aligns with the company strategic plan and influences the overall company direction. You’ll drive accountability and metrics ownership to translate strategy into results. And you’ll align and inspire your organization by effectively communicating and engaging the team in the strategy.

  • You will lead and manage the Information Security and  Information Technology organization, inclusive of enterprise applications, business systems supporting various verticals in Finance, Marketing, Customer Experience and Human Resources, SaaS based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Employee Technology Services, IT Infrastructure, Operations and platforms. 
  • Mentor and coach security practitioners, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
  • Update the Company’s Board of Directors quarterly on the state of the Company’s security posture  
  • Develop and implement a multi-year security strategy and roadmap to anticipate and address security challenges in alignment with company growth objectives
  • Drive the evolution of security capabilities, including Cloud Security, DevSecOps, and Security Operations, to support the company's high-growth trajectory
  • Develop a multi-year strategy and roadmap for IT to anticipate and scale to support all business initiatives across the company 
  • Identify, assess, and manage security risks, ensuring the resilience of IT systems and infrastructure across global operations
  • Anticipate and manage future technology debt challenges through partnership and raising awareness of technical dependencies
  • Lead the development and implementation of security programs, focusing on usable security solutions that support business innovation while mitigating risks
  • Drive the adoption of secure development practices and tools, ensuring the integrity of software products and infrastructure in cloud-native environments.

Compensation and Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. Salary Range
$321,000—$345,000 USD
