Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
6+ years of prior mechanical and/or plumbing design experience as an engineering MEP consultant or plumbing contractor required
Professional Engineer license required (MN preferred)
Experience with architectural projects such as schools, municipal buildings, health care facilities, commercial buildings or related projects required
Prior experience coordinating a project from start to finish with both contractors, clients and other disciplines preferred
Prior project management experience required

The salary for this position ranges from $97,700 to $156,400 per year commensurate with experience. Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.

Job Description:
MSA has an opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical at our St. Paul, MN office on the Building Service Line. You will have the opportunity to see, and contribute in, projects from start to finish. The various projects you'll be working on make a significant and positive impact on the communities you serve. This position will focus on HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection projects.

The work you will do

Design of mechanical and/or plumbing systems including calculations, layouts, sizing, equipment selections, specification, and coordination. Fire protection scope of work design specification and layout
Perform code reviews
Shop drawing and submittal review and processing
Quantity take-offs and cost estimates
Communicates with all levels of clients in support of existing projects and the development of new projects
Project management including serving as a client liaison
Assist with mentoring junior technicians and engineers
