Overview: The Liberty Public Library is seeking a Part-time Building & Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 in Liberty. The Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker 1 will be responsible for the following typical work activities: Paint and touch up paint or stain on walls, equipment, shelving, furnishings, and outdoor railings Assist in making minor plumbing, carpentry & electrical repairs Assist with the maintenance of rooftop HVAC units, including but not limited to replacing/cleaning filters in units and interior ducts etc. Hang pictures, quilts, shelves or assemble furniture May be required to wash windows, walls, sinks and other fixtures or polish furniture and metal furnishings Assist with outdoor landscaping such as trimming bushes/shrubs Remove debris from roof and clears roof drains Check roof caulking for any needed repairs Repair furnishings throughout the building as needed Report any unusual conditions or equipment not functioning properly May be required to remove outside debris from library property and perform a variety of other grounds keeping tasks, such as raking or blowing leaves, trimming shrubs, as assigned May be required to clean snow and ice from walks and book drop area; may sand and salt walkways Perform other duties as assigned Skills needed to perform the job; Maintenance, Groundskeeping, Painting, and carpentry/repair.
