ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE (Job Description)
This position has responsibility for various warehouse operations.
POSITION DEMANDS (Education/Training)
Typically has BS or an AA/AS plus two (2) year directly related experience, or four (4) to six (6) years' directly related experience
POSITION DEMANDS (Required Experience)
Knowledge of:
In-depth knowledge of NASSCO's ship repair approach, organization, procedures and material requirements.
Material requirements planning and procurement systems.
Navy Material Scrapping Material procedures and disposal of recyclable material.
Damaged Material process and procedures.
OSHA regulations regarding industrial lift equipment and safety training.
NASSCO health, safety, and environmental policy.
Skilled in:
Executing Warehouse and Tool Issue operations.
Document preparation for long-term securing and quick retrieval.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to think clearly under pressure of time deadlines.
Recognizing group dynamics and application of techniques to achieve department and company objectives.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and military specifications is highly desirable.
Working with limited supervision.
Completing freight manifests
Preparing government forms to transfer excess material to Government Property Administrator or other Government Agencies.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Warehouse Manager for all aspects of department administration and operation. Interacts internally with other departments and externally with vendors and customers. This position has no direct reports
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately conduct receipt inspection of all inbound material requisitioned along with required documentation
Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and corresponding with buyer to rectify damages or shortages
Identify material by various grades, specs and types
Properly stage all inbound material in its proper locations
Accurately mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method
Research in computer system any material request to locate material
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, contract, etc.
Assemble customer orders and place orders on pallets and relocate orders to a holding or shipping area
Accurately and efficiently pull requested material and prepare material transfer document and process and submit associated paperwork
Understand and follow company's property control procedures and compliance with company tool room.
Operate both fork lift, sit down and stand up
Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks safely
Knowledgeable of various means of transportation and associated documentation requirements, i.e., LTL, flatbed, UPS, Fed-Ex, dedicated shipments
Assist in counting physical inventory
Process all items being returned for replacement or credit
Conduct inventory, control, and coordinate the transfer of tools and equipment.
Execute and maintain accurate transaction records for the issue and receipt of company tools (including rental items) and tool room materials.
Must assure policies.
Issue and receive company tools (including rental items) and tool room materials inventories and maintain accurate data base of all transactions.
Perform job safely and work as part of a team in keeping site safe and in clean conditions, reporting any required maintenance.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize well.
Make deliveries as necessary.
Knowledgeable in proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to use and when
Demonstrate effective math applications
Able to read and write effectively in English, speak with clarity and listen actively.
Must be able to work well with others.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Government Furnished Material - Must meet requirements above in addition to the below requirements, which apply to GFM
Understand and follow government's requirements for property control
Able to issue all GFM material using computer system
Able to deliver material to various locations using appropriate government form
Able to setup GFM job folders for all GFM
Able to research contract Spares inventory using computer system
ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountable for efficient and effective performance while adhering to budgetary, workforce, schedule, quality and safety requirements.
Regular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential function of the job.
UNIQUE/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have reliable record of attendance and punctuality and be available for overtime as required. Must have good eye/hand coordination. Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects or controls; and to talk and hear. Must have physical ability to walk to all warehouse/storeroom locations. Exposure to constantly moving machines and mechanical parts. High levels of constant noise and dust may be present depending on the location of the individual warehouse or storage site. Must be able to gain access to all work locations including government and private ship yards and/or vessels.
Pay Range: $18.55 - $24.00 per hour
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity At NASSCO Bremerton we anticipate making salary offers between the minimum and the midpoint of salary range. Offers will be based on experience, abilities, and knowledge similar to the NASSCO job being applied for NASSCO employees performing similar work.
