CARPENTER
JOB SUMMARY: Construct, install, repair structures, accessories of wood and similar materials. Construct concrete forms. Create building framing, including partitions, joists, trusses, beams, timber stairs, window frames, door frames, and wood floors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- Measure distance from reference points, mark guidelines to lay out work, using plumb bobs and levels.
- Calculate angles, courses to determine vertical and horizontal alignment of courses.
- Assemble and fastening materials to make frameworks or prop using hand tools, wood screws, nails, dowel pins or glue.
- Fasten or fuse brick or other building material to structure with wire clamps, anchor holes, torch, or cement.
- Break or cut bricks, tiles, blocks to size, using trowel edge, hammer or power saw.
- Remove excess mortar with trowels, hand tools, finish mortar joints with jointing tools, to obtain a uniform seal.
- Measure, mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
- Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
- Anchor, brace forms to make structures in place, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers.
- Following established safety rules, regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Good communication skills.
- 4 years of experience in carpentry in a construction environment.
- Experience working with construction equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation (OSHA 30 HRS is a plus).
