POSITION SUMMARY:
CONTROLLER
Reporting to the CEO/President, the Controller is primarily responsible for the overall financial reporting and controls for all Great Lakes Towers dba Ventower Industries activities. The right candidate will be organized, self-motivated, understand the importance of GAAP and able to work at a fast pace and highly dynamic manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares financial and cash forecasts and budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.
- Produce monthly and as needed Financial Statements, supporting schedules and general ledger account reconciliations. Ensure that the reported results comply with GAAP.
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Supervise accounting staff.
- Support the hourly payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and collections functions. • Support hourly payroll related paid time Off, garnishments, deductions, adjustments, and file maintenance.
- Prepare and file Sales/Use/Withholding tax returns.
- Manage company credit cards.
- Maintain sufficient balances and process bank transfers for all bank accounts.
- Oversee reconciliations for all bank accounts and daily cash reports.
- Coordinate bank audits & year-end review with outside CPA Firm
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Special projects and other duties when assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work on site and in person full time.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to work in the manufacturing setting.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Accounting designation or an equivalent combination of related experience and education. • 5+ years of accounting and/or financial management experience in the manufacturing sector preferred.
- Expert with Microsoft, ERP, and ADP payroll.
