Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Shift Manager Operations. This role is responsible for coordinating daily activities in the operation site, supervising hourly crews and improving overall efficiency by proper utilization of the resources and all of its components.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Schedules routine activities. Supervises completion of work assignments for bargaining unit employees and follows established department plans
- Maintains general discipline of the crew in meeting the daily production, safety and quality objectives. Instructs personnel in job requirements, company rules and practices
- Coordinates production and maintenance activities with different departments, assists in developing continuous improvement plans
- Monitors site's operation, adheres to safety, environmental, quality, and productivity performance standards and performs regular audits
- Leads employees' training and performance review programs. Improves overall production, processes and services efficiency
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Two-year technical or supervisory degree, or high school diploma with significant experience
- Two years of industrial/manufacturing experience
- Available to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a multi-level organization that operates 24/7, and work extended hours as needed
- Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day to day operations
- Proven team building skills, works well with others of diverse backgrounds,

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in supervision, technology, or related discipline
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in steel mill, manufacturing, process, production or equivalent facility
- Successful track record working with a represented workforce in a heavy industrial setting
