We are seeking a seasoned and proactive HR Manager with in-depth knowledge of employee relations to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture, resolving complex employee issues, ensuring compliance with California employment regulations, and advising management on HR best practices. This is a strategic role that requires excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of employment law within the state.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution.
• Ensure compliance with California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and company policies.
• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and applicable legal issues.
• Develop and implement employee relations strategies that support a positive workplace culture.
• Oversee performance management processes, including coaching managers through performance improvement plans.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes in California labor law and update policies accordingly.
• Maintain thorough documentation of employee relations issues and outcomes in compliance with legal standards.
• Conduct regular training for supervisors and managers on HR policies, conflict resolution, and state labor law updates.
• Collaborate with legal counsel when necessary for high-risk or complex issues.
• Support HR initiatives such as employee engagement, retention strategies, and workforce planning.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred).
• Bilingual Spanish
• Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience with at least 2 years in a managerial or employee relations role.
• Expert knowledge of California labor laws, employment practices, and compliance standards.
• Strong conflict resolution, mediation, and investigation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive situations with tact and confidentiality.
• Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
